Become a student member

If you are interested in social change and human rights a career in community services is a great choice. By joining ACWA while you’re still studying can make it easier to achieve your goal.

You can join ACWA as a student member if you are currently enrolled in an ACWA accredited course.

Student membership gives you access to information and resources that can both help you with your studies and keep you abreast of changes in the field.

Community work is all about supporting others, and we extend that commitment to future practitioners like you.

Student membership will give you:

  • access to the latest industry news, research and reports through our e-news
  • full access to ‘members only’ resources to help you with your studies
  • professional phone support if you need it
  • a copy of our ethical and professional guidelines
  • opportunities to influence our policies

You will also get discounts on the police checks you’ll need to start work.

Adding ACWA membership to your resume at the first opportunity will show prospective employers how keen and resourceful you are – and that you share our commitment to a fair and just Australia and the provision of ethical services to ensure people’s human rights are recognised, respected and protected.

Once you graduate, you can apply to upgrade to membership.
